Truck Hits Santa Fe Train. Driver Survives Narrowly
A truck driven by Marcelo Lomeli was wrecked after colliding with a southbound Santa Fe freight train on Lerdo Road near Shafter. Firefighters prevented fire or explosion, and witnesses say Lomeli did not hear the train whistle. Traffic was halted briefly as police and rescue crews sorted the scene and examined the damaged truck and cars.
