Computer inservice at Shafter High expands computer literacy
Shafter High teachers continue to study computers in a two week inservice directed by Carole Eiden and Lloyd ux with 600 programs to evaluate for design content ease of use and documentation. Donations support a planned computer lab and a future Basic language course taught by Lloyd Robideaux.

Adams Named New Principal at Richland Junior High
After a closed session Richland School District Board announced Ron Adams as the new principal for Richland Junior High. Adams arrives from Camarillo California where he served as Assistant Principal for grades 7 and 8 in Thousand Oaks School District. He holds BS from Washington State University and MS from California State. Adams and his wife Joan anticipate moving to Shafter with their two children Lindsay and Brian.

Fee doubles Pool opens with higher price
Shafter Recreation and Parks District raises daily swim fee from 50 cents to one dollar per person with free admission for seniors. Pool hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, with adult nights Tuesday 6:30 to 8:30.
