First 5 Kern approves 23 million for children program funding
At the June 7 meeting the First 5 Kern Commission approved a 2006-07 budget of 23,983,663 to develop implement manage and evaluate programs for Kern County children prenatal to five years old. The plan allocates 16,387,080 for four strategic areas Health and Wellness Child Care and Early Education Parent Education and Support Services and Integration of Services. Expenditures include 5,230,000 for ongoing programs AmeriCorps and 3,456,405 for the Children's Health Initiative.
