ROCK nursing course grads find jobs in local hospitals

ROCK vocational programs show success as Nursing Assistant Course graduates mostly secure work in Bakersfield area hospitals. Eight completers include five local hires, two who left for Fresno or Mercy Hospital, and one who advanced to Bakersfield College. next year’s class is full.

Ruth Leila Nickel Funeral Held in Shafter

Funeral services for Ruth Leila Nickel 44 were held Thursday June 12 at Mennonite Brethren Church in Shafter. burial followed at Shafter Memorial Park. Nickel, lifelong Shafter resident and former Richland School District teacher, died June 10 at home. Survived by widower Jona, three daughters, a son, siblings, and stepfather.
