The Shafter Bicentennial Committee led by Nina Leigh plans a July 16 parade to honor the California arrival. Coordinator Chuck Hitchcoe says the wagon will visit Shafter, join the National Bicentennial Wagon train in Los Angeles, then travel to Valley Forge. Scrolls signed by residents will be loaded on the wagon, ending at Stringham Memorial Park for a booster club hamburger barbecue with music and dancing.
