Services Held for Marjorie F. Brown
Funeral services were conducted Saturday for Marjorie F. Brown 53 at Agee Family Funeral Home in Shafter. She died June 3 in a Bakersfield hospital with Rev. John D. Spear of St. Mark's Episcopal Church officiating. Burial followed at Shafter Memorial Park. Brown was born January 13, 1914 in Oakland and lived in Shafter 27 years. she was active in St. Mark's, the Shafter Woman's Club, PTA, and helped found the Recreation Commission. Survivors include husband Edward A. Brown, sons Morton E. Brown of Arvin and John H. Brown of Shafter, daughter Mary Orr of Baton Rouge, grandchildren, brothers Robert and Arthur Kingston, sisters Avisia Kingston and several others. Memorial gifts were requested to St. Mark's Sunday School classrooms.

All-Night Disneyland Trip Aids Shafter Seniors
Reservations were made for 224 seniors and guests for an all night party at Disneyland on June 11. Six chartered Orange Belt buses will depart Shafter at 7 p.m. and return the next morning around 9 a.m. Jack Williams chaired the fundraiser funding the trip. twelve chaperones accompanied the group, with Mr and Mrs Ken Wegis joining in their car. Mrs Wegis chaired the sponsoring parents. This marks Shafter High School's first all night Disneyland outing.
