New California Law Sets Financial Responsibility for Auto Accidents
California enacts a July 1 effective law requiring drivers to show financial responsibility after crashes causing injuries deaths or more than 100 in damage. A bond up to 11000 or cash to cover probable damage or an insurance policy may be used as proof. Licenses may be suspended for failing to deposit security or report the accident within 10 days. Two Injured When Car Overturns Near Town
James Higgins 22 and Betty Higgins 18 were injured when their four door Ford overturned after hitting a potato field two miles north of town around 7 p.m. James suffered a dislocated left shoulder while Betty had a fractured nose.
