A massive parade will anchor the Shafter Potato Festival with a 2 mile route through central streets. Officials expect Kern County to witness the largest parade in its history with floats cars and mounted groups led by the parade marshal and local dignitaries along Central Avenue and Golden West.
Shafter Festival Parade Opens Day of Activities
After months of prep, the 1 Shafter State Festival features a morning parade at 10 45 from the primary school on Lerdo. The route goes east to 5 Points then Central Avenue to Santa Fe Highway, returning to town for floats awards and visitors.
