County Appraisers Report Local Assessment Value
County Appraiser J H Hanks told the Board of Supervisors that Kern county's seven incorporated cities account for more than one tenth of the 1949 assessed valuation. Agricultural appraisers reviewed over 500000 acres to reach a county valuation exceeding half a billion dollars based on water lift soil type location and crop yield. Land buildings and personal property in cities totaled 56330485 out of 521603130. The city valuation is separate from and in addition to that of city assessors, with a countywide re appraisal underway for all towns including new subdivisions.
