Father Rescues Two Sons From Reservoir Near Home
Robert Thomas of Shafter is credited by county firemen with saving two of his sons from a large adjacent reservoir. The three boys lived at the Thomas home where the water danger had long worried their parents. The two younger boys Jerry aged 4 and David aged 2 slipped into the gate and wandered to the water where they fished, waded, and drifted toward the deep section. Thomas reached them in time and used resuscitation to revive both boys. The eldest Bruce, 6, was sent to Camp Mubane feed yard for safety as the rescue occurred.
