The Shafter Mennonite Brotherhood summer Bible school held an end of term program with memory work songs and a handiwork display. Students earning over 100 points received prizes. top honorees included Mervin Neufeld Barbara Siemens and Eveleven Ediger. Summer enrollment reached 177 at Shafter Church with 46 teachers involved across sessions.

Divorce Granted to Jessie Lachenmaier in Bakersfield Court
Jessie Lachenmaier was awarded an interlocutory divorce from Elmer Lachenmaier a wealthy Shafter grower and shipper after testifying he beat her and stayed away from home.
