Shafter Storm Drain Project Awarded to Clovis Firm
Work on a large storm drain will start July 31 after the Shafter City Council awarded a $234,190 contract to Floyd Johnson Construction Co. of Clovis. The 48-inch drain runs along Minter Avenue from Manuel to Elm and then south along Elm to Lerdo Highway, expected to ease years of flooding. Residents face disruption as Minter, Elm, and part of Manuel are torn up, with streets fully resurfaced upon completion in early September.
