Paula Pocorena of Bakersfield and Scott Larson of Santa Barbara join Shafter Press and Buttonwillow Times as interns in production and news coverage. Shafter High Class of 1969 Reunion At Bakersfield Elks Club
About 130 of 163 graduates attended the Shafter High School class of 1964 reunion at the Bakersfield Elks Club last Saturday night. Jim Garrison from Bay City Michigan earned a prize for traveling far. Other winners included Gilbert Cota with five children Claudia Cook for youngest baby Darrin Edward born July 4 and Anthony Vasquez former class president now a San Leandro civil engineer. The program was hosted by Ken Gladden and followed by dancing to Lord Luther and the Inner Eye.

Rare July Rain and Reunion Plan at Shafter
A rare July rain of .02 inch fell in Shafter, measured at 8 a.m. last Wednesday, with a high of 95 that Sunday and night lows 52 to 72. At the Cotton Research Station readings, about 1:30 a.m. daily high and low were recorded. A reunion group of about 40 gathered at the Hilton for breakfast, planning a booklet and photo souvenir featuring each couple and single attendee.

Modest increases occurred in Lerdo and Rosedale while Maple Rio Bravo Greeley and Fruitvale fell.
