Police seek information after an unspecified robbery in Shafter. Investigators urge anyone with details or suspects to contact the Shafter Police Department at 746-6341.

Two Hispanic men in their 30s arrived at a Shafter residence on Albert Street around 10 AM last Tuesday. They asked to speak with the owner, claimed approval to use the phone, and after detaining the occupant with a gun and duct tape they fled with a set of keys. The victims were unhurt. police seek two suspects described as around 30, heavyset, about 6 foot 2 inches. Detectives have not identified the men yet but found physical evidence at the scene.
Christopher Clark, 40, of Santa Barbara, pulled into the Shafter Chevron Station on Highway 99 and Lerdo, then left and prompted a 911 call to CHP. A second caller reported Clark appeared intoxicated as he entered southbound freeway traffic.
The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District Governing Board endorsed a 2003 PM Attainment Demonstration Plan aimed at reducing 275 tons per day of harmful particulates by 2010. The plan imposes stricter industrial rules and extends controls to agricultural operations under state and federal authority.
