Settlement Ends Farrell Civil Trial Over Grand Theft Case
Roy Farrell, longtime Shafter resident and former financial advisor, settled out of court to avoid a civil trial related to funds allegedly diverted from Nettie Miller who died in 1991. Court records indicate about 350000 dollars were involved, moved into a joint account and a family trust before the estate dispute, with Miller’s heirs claiming Farrell profited from the transfers. Farrell had previously pleaded no contest to felony grand theft in 1994 and received probation, restitution, and community service.
