California hunting and fishing bills face slow progress
In Sacramento the California legislature reviewed hunting and fishing proposals with few gaining passage. A plan to raise deer tags from 2 to 3 dollars would fund habitat improvement and predator control but died in committee. A Texas style landowner–hunter permit option was debated but did not advance, while a bill to issue licenses to blind or near blind hunters would let designated hunters kill deer for them but remained unlikely to pass.
