Richland Junior High Turkey Bowl Draws Loud Student Support
At RJH Turkey Bowl events friendly groups cheered their teams while a spirited rally featured cheerleaders Janet Johnson Debra Porter and Daphene Caster. Principal Ronald Adams praised the role of friends in boosting self esteem and grades as students with outstanding behavior earned O on all report cards.

Grand Night for Music features 900 Kern students on stage
More than 900 music students from over 20 Kern County high schools will perform at a January 31 1996 Bakersfield Convention Center concert. The program includes Bach Copland Stravinsky and Beethoven pieces with a grand finale of From Sea to Shining Sea. Admission is 3 with Ed Hughes calling the 144 foot stage among the largest in the U.S. for this combined ensemble. Sponsors are Kern County Office of Education Kern High Schools District and Kern County Music Educators Association.
