Pursuit Ends In Crash After Stolen City Truck Theft
A pursuit involving a stolen 1959 Chevy pickup owned by the City of Shafter led to a crash injuring Cristobal Garcia, 18, who was charged with auto theft, felony evading arrest, and possession of stolen property. The 1977 Chevy rear ended a trailer. the 1959 model remains unrecovered as investigators press on.

Wasco woman injured in rollover crash near Lerdo Highway
Gina Provencio, 22, of Wasco, suffered head, arm, and leg lacerations when her 1988 Subaru left Lerdo Highway and rolled into a field near Palm Avenue after she leaned to pick up a dropped item. She was treated at Kern Medical Center. The crash occurred about 2 46 p.m. No citations were issued.
