Janice Smith begins as part time manager secretary of the Shafter Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture for 1993. She grew up in Plainfield New Jersey studied at University of Pittsburgh and has marketing public relations and advertising experience. She and her husband Dan moved to Shafter in August 1992 after owning Holiday Ford locations. The Smiths named their daughters Tamu Amani and Adia with Swahili meanings.
