Burglaries Reported in Wasco Shafter Area
Sheriff's deputies report two burglaries in the Shafter area over the past week. Vernon Isaac residence on Palm Avenue was broken into between 8 am and 1 pm Thursday, with radios a stereo a portable TV and jewelry worth 1883 stolen. Burlington at 27399 West Lerdo saw a back-door smash and a TV stereo radios and tools taken, valued at 1170. No definite link between the crimes.

Wasco Man Charged After Attack on Officers in Shafter
Arnold Wade Lightner, 23, of Wasco, was arrested in Shafter after allegedly striking a man and attacking two officers at a disturbance on East Lerdo Highway. He was booked for disturbing the peace, assault and battery, resisting arrest, and two counts of assault on a peace officer. A 14-year-old girl was cited for resisting a public officer.
