Principal changes moved Jordan Kanikkeberg to Foot Hill and Neal Olsen named to replace him. Richland School Board welcomed a new member. two incumbents reelected. April saw warm festival weather, district art festival, and water delivery to Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area. Fire department weed notices issued. city discussed police building, and lights for Hudson Park diamond were installed. May brought a fatal car crash, undefeated girls tennis team, and a strong festival turnout with higher carnival receipts. Neal Olsen named Shafter High principal. Richland sees new upper grade PE program. Randy White and Kenny Marchman qualify for Junior Olympics. James W. Stockton listed.
