A late last Thursday accident ended Shafter’s three year no fatals record. Skid marks at the scene indicate Elam’s vehicle left the road and the driver was ejected onto the roadway. Authorities are investigating factors including speed and possible failure to maintain control.

Shafter High School will stage Noel Coward's Hay Fever on February 7 and 8 in the SHS auditorium. Authorities urge motorists to cooperate to reduce these incidents.
