Juvenile Escapee Nabbed After Burglary in Shafter
A youth fleeing from Juvenile Hall in Shafter was captured while burglarizing a residence. Officers found him sacking kitchen cabinets after checking living rooms. He admitted entering to rest and find food and also confessed to auto theft. He was under sentence for several grand theft auto counts.
Short City Council Session Adopts Reiker Ordinance
Wednesday evening City Council meeting lasted 37 minutes. A resolution passed and Ordinance No 150 introduced to make the Reiker area an integral part of Shafter. Ordinance takes effect 30 days after publication. Next meeting set for 7 pm January 14 in City Hall.
