Shafter arrests in car burglary ring case

Alcohol believed to be Cause of weekend crash
A 17 year old driver in a 1997 Acura on Stockdale Highway lost control while intoxicated after drifting into eastbound lanes. The car struck an irrigation ditch embankment and overturned several times. The front passenger suffered major head trauma and was airlifted to Kern Medical Center. both teens wore seatbelts. The driver was arrested for Felony DUI and booked at Juvenile Hall after medical clearance.

Sludge Ban Headed for Kern County Ballot in June
Senator Dean Florez announced that Kern County voters will decide in June 2006 on Keep Kern Clean’s initiative to ban land application of sewage sludge from Los Angeles Ventura and Orange counties. California teen driving law tightens restrictions with one-year wait
