Shafter high school students staged Polishing Papa a three act comedy drama in Richland auditorium Friday night under Wm. B. White. Clarence Neuman led as sausage king with Sidney Smith as his son and Geneva Payne as his daughter. The cast included Tommy Dorris Jane Smith Rosie Unruh Myron Janzen and others. The girls glee club with Verona Stone performed before act three.

Camp West Lowe Ginning Co of Shafter filed a $525,000 chattel mortgage with Kern County Recorder to California Cotton Growers Finance Co for gins at Shafter Wasco Rosedale and McFarland plus trucks and trailers. Publisher Wrecks Automobile on Visit to Shafter
