County Mock Trials Finalists Eyed In Kern County
Kern County high schools compete in the constitutional mock trial program sponsored by the Kern County Bar Association and courts. Nineteen Shafter High School students participate as counsel and witnesses in People vs Rose, a case featuring poisoning, assault with a deadly weapon, and search and seizure. The showdown is February 26 in Bakersfield with top teams advancing to a Bakersfield High School awards ceremony and a March 3 county final before a state challenge in Sacramento.
