Ordinance 62 Enacts Public Property Advertising Limits
The City of Shafter prohibits placing papers handbills circulars or advertisements on streets sidewalks alleys parks or public spaces. It bans posting advertising matter on vehicles buildings or walls and restricts street sales of commercial material. Newspaper distribution is exempt and the ordinance sets penalties up to 300 dollars or three months for violations. Emergency clause takes effect immediately with publication in the Shafter Press.
