Maple PTA honors life member Jonas Nickel at Founders Day
Maple PTA held Founders Day with candles and a rededication to PTA ideals. Jonas Nickel led the candle lighting while Mrs. Jonas Nickel presided. Scout leaders and Explorers spoke on Cub and Boy Scout activities and the 1964 Jamboree. Officers were praised as bylaws changes were approved and a nominating committee chosen. No school on February 12 or 22.

Young Farmers Set for Asilomar Conference
California farmers will attend a Farm Bureau young leaders conference February 18-21 at Asilomar conference grounds near Pacific Grove in Monterey County. Topics include The Value of Conversation and World Problems in Agriculture. Allan Grant of Visalia will give the keynote Thursday afternoon at 4 00 p.m.

Tenure Discussed By School Board Delegates Named
The School Board of Trustees met to discuss tenure and selected Jonas Nickel as delegate to the Small School District School Boards Association convention in Sacramento in March. Superintendent Clyde Johnston will attend an Elementary Administrators convention in San Francisco in April. The board approved the 1965 66 school calendar following Wasco Union High School's schedule.
