PG E to take added nuclear participation
The withdrawal of SDG&E from the San Joaquin Nuclear Project will not reduce private utility participation. Burt said SDG&E's 3 percent stake in the 5200 megawatt Kern County plant will be accepted by PG&E and SCE, though division of that share is not yet determined. The current 45 percent private utility share remains, with 45 percent public and 10 percent California Department of Water Resources.
