Funeral notices honor Henry Ewert and Dana Simpson
Funeral services for Henry Ewert 82 of Shafter will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Henry Harder officiating. Interment in Shafter Memorial Park. Ewert, born Mountain Lake Minnesota, died Feb 1 in Bakersfield after a long illness. Survivors include two sons Carl and Paul, a sister Mary Buller, three brothers, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Agee Funeral Home in charge. Also services for Dana Cheryl Simpson 34 of Bakersfield were held Feb 3 at Shafter Memorial Park after she died Jan 31 in an airplane accident near Bakersfield. Simpson, born in Bakersfield, attended Wasco schools and Bakersfield College. Survivors include widower James, son David, daughter Debra, her parents Vernon and wife, grandparents, a brother and other relatives. Agee Funeral Home handled arrangements. Paper dealer plates end on new cars in California
The California Department of Motor Vehicles ends temporary paper license plates on vehicles sold by dealers from January 1. Drivers will display the report of sale form until permanent plates and registration arrive. The change aims to cut costs and reduce illegible paper plates in rain or car washes.
