Obituary of Herbert G McBride at 60 in Kern County
Herbert G McBride of 215 Cross Street died December 27 in Greater Bakersfield Memorial Hospital after a period of ill health. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at First Baptist Church Shafter with interment in Shafter Cemetery. He was born May 26 1898 in Oklahoma and lived in Kern County 18 years. Survivors include wife Pearl daughters Helen Hildebrand and Jeanne Rickett, four grandchildren. Brothers Clifford Wister and sisters Ethel Lena survive.

Tragic 16 Month Old Dies in Shafter Driveway
Darrel Eugene Odom aged 16 months was run over by a car in the driveway on Thomas Way in Shafter on Christmas Day. Floyd Odom, 55, was driving forward when the child ran from the house into the path of the vehicle. He died at the police station where a doctor pronounced the death. Funeral services were arranged by Robert L. Jones funeral home.

Funeral services were held at Freewill Baptist Church Wasco for Darrell Eugene Odom 16 month old son of Mr and Mrs Eugene Odom. He died December 25 at home. The Rev O Thurman officiated with interment in Delano Cemetery. Born August 6 1957 in Wasco he is survived by his parents grandparents and a sister. Armstrong Mortuary Shafter managed arrangements.
