Adult sewing class at Shafter paused over holidays
Instructor Ann Jacobsen says the Shafter School adult evening sewing class will not meet during the holidays. Regular high school classes resume January 2, so the first adult session will be January 10, the second Thursday of January.

Auxiliary Hosts Potluck and Festive Legion Dinner
The American Legion auxiliary held a combined potluck dinner and party on December 15 at the Veterans Memorial Hall attended by about 35 people. Children joined group games and social activities while guests donated canned foods for baskets to aid the needy. A Tuberculosis Association donation was made and the auxiliary doll "Sweet Sue" was won by Mrs. Gene Guenther. Irma McCoy served as general chair and hostess. Visitors to the Garratt home on Christmas Day included Dr. and Mrs. D. A. Parish and Lowell Wilson.
