Shafter Violent Party Brawl and Suspected Holdups
A late night party on Rodriguez Street erupted into a melee with multiple injuries. Henry Blair age 21 and Alex and Albert Barrera ages 20 21 faced assault with a deadly weapon charges as Scott witnesses described a gun drawn and a stabbing. Renee Gonzales 18 received a knife wound while Ruben Gonzales was treated at the scene. Joaquin Lambrano ? was arrested for public drunkenness and an outstanding warrant. A 14 year old juvenile runaway was also arrested for public drunkenness as investigators tied a related tire slashing incident to the same event late Thursday night. A Santa Paula man connected to an LA robbery was arrested after investigators linked a red Chevrolet to the crime scene. Deputies later recovered items from a break in at Lerdo School and a residence in Shafter.

The count includes principals deans and directors with 73.5 certificated and ten classified. Holiday baker burns his cookies
A Shafter resident’s holiday treats were a total loss after a cookies fire. The Shafter Fire Department responded to a Cross Street home last Wednesday at about 3:55 p.m. The cookies were fully involved on arrival and quickly extinguished with a fire extinguisher. No damage to the home was reported beyond the cookies.
