Colorful Christmas Program At Maple School
Upper grade students at Maple School presented a musical nativity with narrators Elaine Reimer and Cheryl Grey. The production featured Mary Clingan and Joseph Randy Bergman, choral numbers, instrumental solos, and stage sets painted by Janet Peterson and Hazel Haag. Santa Claus Bruce Grant visited classrooms with PTA fruit bags before vacation.

American Legion Commander J Milton Patrick from Skintock Oklahoma will visit California and be honored at a banquet at the Casa Royale Inn Bakersfield 251 South Union Avenue Saturday January 3 1970 at 7 30 p m. All veterans guests and the public invited Tickets at The American Legion Halk 2020 H Street Bakersfield Patrick will speak on his Vietnam travels and other veterans topics.

Maple School eighth graders earned a reward trip to Los Angeles visiting three museums near the Colosseum. Led by teacher Bob Clancy superintendent Kelly Blanton and custodian Martin Wilcox, they traveled in three cars with lunch to a park.

Milk Prices Rise in Kern County Milk Marketing Area
California officials announce a price hike effective December 28 for Kern County milk. Minimum retail prices increase by a half cent per quart and one cent per half gallon after a Bakersfield public hearing citing higher operating costs. Zone 1 prices become 53 cents per half gallon and 27.5 cents per quart. Zone 2 rise to 54 cents per half gallon and 28 cents per quart.
