Christmas Home Tour delight draws Baker, Shafter visitors

Soroptimists hosted a Christmas Home Tour last Saturday attracting guests from Shafter and Bakersfield. Highlights included Mike and Gail Carty at 344 Redwood with nativity displays from travels abroad, plus Betty Morrison, Sharon Wiebe, Linda Pitcairn, and the Verna McCastins homes with welcoming hostesses and scenic gardens.

Woman's Club marks seventy fifth year with pink tree tribute

The Woman's Club gathered at the Veterans Hall on Wednesday to honor its 75th year in federation. Past President Dee Voth presided as members shared ornaments for a tree donated to Shafter Convalescent Hospital, with five boxes of ornaments collected over the years.
