Lerdo students may relocate to Shafter plan eyed
Richland-Lerdo School District Superintendent Dr. Dan Knapp reported preliminary survey results show most Lerdo parents favor relocating third and fourth graders to Shafter for safety and efficiency. A December meeting with district officials will explore using Lerdo for at risk students, with about 10 to 12 identified.

Former Shafter Resident Linda Parrish Dies in Morro Bay
Linda Gloeckler Parrish of Morro Bay died November 24 1994 after a long illness. She was born August 21 1922 in Waldheim Saskatchewan and lived in Shafter before moving to Bakersfield. She worked at Bank of America and Superior Oil and led Kern County Medical Auxiliary activities. Her survivors include Cassandra Parrish Jim Gloeckler and several sisters and nephews. Donations to the American Cancer Society are requested in lieu of flowers.
