Nellie Oliver Elected Chairman of Shafter Auxiliary
Nellie Oliver was elected chairman of the Women's Auxiliary of the Shafter Fire Department at the annual officers election held at Mrs. Earl Oliver's home. Jean Holt became vice chairman with Rosalee Pierce secretary treasurer and others filling social and telephone roles. Plans were set for the San Joaquin Firemen's association dinner and meeting with numerous members in attendance.

Gribble Family Reunion Highlights Local Educators
Gribble, longtime Audubon Indiana teacher, arrived by train to join her fiancé on the west coast. Ralph Gribble earned a Chico State teaching credential, attended the college’s 50th anniversary in 1967, and his son also graduated Chico State in 1941 with a 25th reunion last year. Mrs Gribble earned an elementary credential at Chico State and her husband a UC Berkeley administrative credential. Open house drew old friends Kiwanis members service club neighbors, while a school bus stat line notes over a third of American pupils ride buses.
