Piano Team to Appear at Fox Theatre Bakersfield
Victor Rabin and Vitya Vronsky will perform at the Fox Theatre in Bakersfield tomorrow night under the Kern County Musical Association. Kern county aid payments exceed national averages in 1947
The California Taxpayers Association reports September 1947 aid per person or per case in Kern county outdistanced the July 1947 national averages in four relief categories. Aged recipients averaged 57.41 dollars, blind 63.13, dependent children 62.21 per family, and general assistance 67.84 per case, with statewide figures similarly above national levels.

Tight-Wire Act at Kern Academy Features George R. Close
George R. Close, a 67 year old tight wire performer, will headline Kern Academy on Saturday night December 13 at eight in the Academy Auditorium. The show includes blindfolded wire walking with tied feet, chair rocking, scooter riding, balance on a four legged stool, and other feats.
