Excellence promotes Trojans Richland Band moves into Division AA
The Shafter Richland marching band under Ken Gross rises from Division A to Division AA after earning multiple awards this season. At Garces on October 28 the band won first place for the second straight year, with Crystal Gonzalez taking top honors in percussion and flag, and the drum major. The next weekend 20 Junior High Schools joined Shafter for a band review, where the Division II First Place Trophy marked the fourth straight win, with percussion, flag, Gonzalez, and the ID unit all placing well. The Stockdale Spectacular on November 11 continued the strong showing.
