Christian named administrator of North Kern Hospital
Christian head of North Kern Hospital replaces former administrator. Lynn E Gair M D, chairman of the board, announced the appointment. Christian, a Tennessee native educated at Chattanooga and Seenamerad academies, will reside in Wasco with wife Mary Ann and two children. He comes from Madison Hospital as administrative assistant and previously served as Hialeah Hospital business manager. The hospital serves Wasco Shafter and surrounding areas and more information will be released under his administration.

The Union Congregational Church at 430 E. Tulare will host a 55 minute color film The Silent Witness on Wednesday December 5 at 7 p.m. It explores the Holy Shroud of Turin and the debate over its authenticity. Kenneth Moore narrates and calls the relic either the most awesome object in Christian history or a remarkable human fabrication. All Shafter residents are welcome with no charge.

Wayne Wong Receives DAR Good Citizenship Award
Wayne Wong is named this year’s DAR Good Citizenship recipient chosen from among seniors. Three finalists, Wayne, Phil Anderson, and Mark Richardson, were selected by the senior class and faced faculty voting.
