An assembly at Shatter High School featured Johnnie Parsons famous Indianapolis Speedway driver who urged good judgement and alertness in driving. He noted his 35 to 50 thousand accident free miles yearly and stressed courtesy and rule observance. Parsons also spoke with shop class students and answered their questions.
Paul Heffernan discusses the Treasury’s plan to raise 10 billion dollars in cash over the next months. He cautions that the government bond market is depleted and a true, liquid long term market for government obligations scarcely exists at present.
Mr. Joseph H. Boyd of 213 Shafter Avenue suffered a heart attack recently and is confined to his home.
