Shafter Western Auto Store Moves to New Building
Art Brownell, owner, and wife the Brownells moved the Western Auto Supply operation to a new Bender building in spring 1946. The store, exclusive Coronado appliances and auto supplies dealer, expanded rapidly, with Jack Bender a long time helpful employee. Located at 206 Central near Munzer Street, it is one of California’s largest Western Auto outlets, home owned and run by Brownell.
