The California Highway Patrol informs Assemblyman H. W. Kelly that cotton trailers are subject to safety standards when in use. Requirements include rear tail and license plate lamps, rear red reflector, amber clearance lamps on the front sides, rear amber lamps when width exceeds 80 inches, rear stop lamp, braking provisions for towing vehicle and certain trailers, mud guards, and an extra safety chain between truck and trailer.
