$409000 Loan Approved For Buena Vista Project
A $409 000 loan to Buena Vista Water Storage District Buttonwillow California for phase one of irrigation development was approved by the Farmers Home Administration. The loan supports three miles of water line roads bridges and related improvements serving 175 Kern County farms over 78 000 acres with a total project cost of 685 000 for this phase and 10 million for the full plan.

Six month old male German shepherd named Denver, trained as a guide dog for the blind, disappeared from Nancy Smith of 29504 Madera on Monday August 17. Richland School Joins Mini-Corps Program for 1970-71
Richland Elementary will participate with eight area schools in California Mini-Corps Teacher program for the 1970-71 term. Two Mini-Corps members Nellie Pino and Rose Lopez will assist, funded federally and not by the Richland district. The program aims to educate migratory farm worker children and is led by Cal State College, Bakersfield.
