California’s first 1957 cotton bale ginned at Wheeler Ridge
California’s first 1957 bale of cotton was processed at Wheeler Ridge from the Buller Neufeld Ranch on Tejon property in Kern County. The bale weighed 538 pounds and the 1956 yield was about 2.7 bales per acre. Buller expects improved AG yield though rows were not yet planted.
