Former Shafter man warns of nuclear war by Russia in November
Leland Freeborn, a former Shafter resident now in Utah, claims God told him the United States will face a nuclear war with Russia in November. He predicts a seven year war, Chinese landings, and strikes on Minuteman silos and SAC bases, urging Shafter locals to stock food and water and prepare shelters. He says he has written to the White House, built a fortified shelter, and sees himself as a prophet after surviving a 1976 plane crash and a subsequent spiritual awakening.
