Ruth E Dennis 58 of Bakersfield died July 24 1986 while vacationing in Northern California. Graveside services were held Tuesday July 29 at Shafter Memorial Park. Rev Bill York officiated. Born February 26 1928 in Isabell South Dakota she moved to Shafter at age 3 and later married Robert Dennis April 6 1953. She was active in PTA and children's activities and adored flowers and fishing with grandchildren. She is survived by husband Robert daughter Glenda Byrom brother Victor Alexander sister Thelma Sprankle and three grandchildren.

Felipe Solis Olveda, 83, died August 3 in Shafter. A rosary was said at 7 p.m. August 6 at Agee Funeral Chapel and requiem at 10 a.m. August 7 at St. Therese’s Catholic Church, with interment in Shafter Memorial Park. Born August 23, 1902, in Repueblo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, he moved from Edinburg, Texas to California in 1948 and settled in Shafter in 1961. Survived by three daughters Stella Montoya, Lupe Kennedy, Carmen Flores. two sisters Lola Farias and Teofila Farias. 11 grandchildren. wife Herminia Martinez Preceded him in death in April 1973.

Funeral rites were held at Holy Rosary and St Therese Church with interment in Shafter.
