Shafter City Council Adopts 1986 87 Budget and zoning actions
Shafter City Council approved the 1986 87 operating budget totaling 3 549 672 including 1 678 252 in capital outlay. The meeting covered post office building plans a mobile home park zone change and zoning code amendments along with bids for street work and new refuse equipment. The council also tabled a street fair ordinance and postponed DPBIA related rules to form one ordinance. Incumbents Prout and Thomas were re appointed to council and Dolores Robinson and Bernice Atkinson were named city clerk and treasurer respectively with further action required.
