Shafter Recreation District gains funding after years delay
Shafter voters approved a recreation district on June 6 1978 but Prop 13 cut funding. Now via SB180 a base of 98074 dollars is guaranteed with potential increases from Prop 13 and valuation. Board plans to assess programs, pursue a full time staffer, and coordinate with Richland School District on the pool and a senior center as funding begins in 1981.

Shafter Council backs legal defense for officer Russell Carr
