Young Vets Lead Growth of Greater Oildale Legion Post
North of the River Bakersfield area sees rapid GOAL post expansion as veterans form the Greater Oildale American Legion with over 80 members. Led by Earl Smith and spearheaded by Art Conville, the post promotes community service, sponsors Boy Scouting, funds a pool, and aids a local Boys State program while planning a new hall adjacent to the Veterans Memorial. The group plans a September district meeting at NOR HQ and continues active involvement across Legion and Lions Club duties.
